Former Auks took the stage at two NCAA tournaments and came away winners.  In the Division 3 National Championship for Women’s Soccer former Auk Maddie Buckley ’11 lead the squad from William Smith College to the Championship.  Maddie scored the opening goal in the 2-0 victory over Trinity College.  She also lead the team with 26 points doing the Championship Season.  If our research is correct Maddie becomes the second Archmere graduate to be part of a NCAA National Championship team, joining Blake Yule ’83 who was part of the Division 3 Football Championship Team at Hofstra in 1986.  If anyone knows of anyone else please let us know.

Hoping to join the list is former Football Coach Joe Moglia.  Joe, now the head coach at Coastal Carolina gained an upset victory over Montana in the NCAA Football Championship Sub-Division (former Division 1-AA).  The win puts #11 Chanticleers into the National Quarter-Finals against #1 and defending national champion North Dakota State Bison on Saturday, December 14th.  Good Luck to Joe and the Coastal team.
