Just Do It

Today’s Word:

Here I am, Lord; I come to do Your will. (Psalm 40:9)

On This Date…

On August 22, 1932, the first meeting of the Archmere Corporation occurred in the DuPont Building in Wilmington. Abbot Bernard Pennings, O.Praem., Father Michael McKeough, O.Praem., and Father Daniel Hurley, O.Praem., were named Members of the Corporation.

Later that day, Father McKeough wrote to Abbot Pennings in Wisconsin, “We are feeling fine and are working hard to get the new school ready.”

As of August 22, 2013, there are three Members of the Archmere Corporation: Abbot Richard Antonucci, O.Praem. (Archmere teacher from 1973-75), Father Steven Albero, O.Praem. (Archmere teacher from 1992-95), and Mr. Michael Boyd ’59. Mr Body is a former Trustee (1993-96), and he is also the father of two graduates, Jennifer ’85 and Timothy ’93.

At Mass today we pray, “Here I am Lord; I come to do Your will.” Today we think of all the members of the Archmere Corporation who, over the past 81 years, have helped Archmere to discern God’s will and do it.
