Kindness and Truth

Today’s Word:

“”Kindness and truth shall meet; justice and peace shall kiss” (Psalm 85:11)

On This Date…

On December 7, 374, Saint Ambrose was consecrated the bishop of Milan, Italy. In 387, at age 35, he baptized Saint Augustine.

On December 7, 1787, Delaware was the first state to ratify the Constitution; Delaware is called “The First State”.

On December 7, 1941, a Sunday, Pearl Harbor in Hawaii was attacked at 7:50 AM – “a date that would live in infamy,” President Roosevelt said; 2,388 were killed and about 2,000 injured.

On December 7, 1965, the Second Vatican Council issued the “Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World” – in Latin called “Gaudium et Spes” (“Joy and Hope”); it stressed the dignity of the human person.

At Mass today we prayed, from the Hebrew Scriptures, “Kindness and truth shall meet; justice and peace shall kiss” – God’s words that give us “joy and hope”.
