This Is The Day The Lord Has Made

Today’s Word:

“This is the day the Lord has made” (Psalm 118:24)

On This Date…

On April 11, 1120, at the beginning of Holy Week, Saint Norbert returned to Premontre, France with thirteen novices and, for the first time, began to live community life.

On April 11, 1126, Easter Sunday, Saint Norbert celebrated Mass in Wurzburg, Germany, and, after receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus, breathed upon the eyes of a blind woman and cured her of her blindness. Later that same day there was a meeting in Magdeburg, Germany to discuss the election of a new archbishop; Saint Norbert was elected and served as Archbishop of Magdeburg from 1126 until his death in 1134.

On this 8th Day of Passover and 7th Day of Easter we say with the psalmist, “This is the day the Lord has made” as it was also in 1120 and 1126.
