Hear God’s Voice

Today’s Word:

“If today you hear God’s voice, harden not your hearts” (Psalm 95:8)

Saint Joseph

On March 19, 1925, the Feast of Saint Joseph, Father Angelo Joseph Roncalli was consecrated a bishop. In 1962, as pope, he added the name of Saint Joseph to the Roman Canon of the Mass, the first change in almost a thousand years.

On March 19, 1955 Abbot Bernard Pennings, O.Praem. the founder of Archmere, was buried in DePere, Wisconsin. He had been the pastor of Saint Joseph Church in DePere from 1900 to 1955. Of his accomplishments Abbot Pennings said, “All this is the work of Saint Joseph.”

On March 19, 2013 Pope Francis was inaugurated as pope. In his homily that day Pope Francis said that Saint Joseph was “constantly attentive to God, open to the signs of God’s presence and receptive to God’s plans, and not simply his own.”

Today at Mass we prayed, “If today you hear God’s voice, harden not your hearts”. Saint John the XXIII, Abbot Pennings, and Pope Francis had ears and hearts for God’s plans.
