Archmere Academy St. Norbert Hall

Archmere Academy St. Norbert Hall

On November 8, 1959 Bishop Michael Hyle of Wilmington dedicated Saint Norbert Hall; in attendance were the governor and senator of Delaware, Abbot Sylvester Killeen, O.Praem of Saint Norbert Abbey in Wisconsin and Father Michael McKeough, O.Praem., Archmere’s first headmaster (1932-1936), who gave the dedication address. As you know, Saint Norbert Hall is now undergoing major reconstruction, and that, too, will be dedicated.

On November 9, 324 the Church of Saint John Lateran, Rome’s cathedral, was dedicated; it was the site of five ecumenical councils and was the pope’s residence before the Vatican.

At Mass today we hear these words: “the temple of God, which you are, is holy”, inspiring for a dedication anniversary and for a school community.
