Today’s Word:
“With You is found forgiveness, O God of Israel” (Psalm 130:4)
On October 13, 1793, Norbertine Father Pierre-Adrien Toulorge, O.Praem. was guillotined at age 36 in Coutances, France during the French Revolution. Just before his death he wrote to his brother, “God has found me worthy not only to suffer in prison but also to die for our Lord, Jesus Christ.” Father Toulorge was beatified on April 29, 2012 in Coutances; today is his feast day.
On October 13, 1985, Father Roger Paider, O.Praem., Archmere’s 3rd headmaster (1945-1946), died of cancer at age 71. He was at Archmere from 1944 to 1961, as chemistry teacher, librarian, prefect of discipline, and grounds keeper. He is buried at Daylesford.
At Mass today we prayed, “With You is found forgiveness, O God of Israel”. Father Toulorge and Father Paider have both found God’s forgiveness.
