God Works Through Us

Today’s Word:

O Lord, hear my prayer and let my cry come to you. (Psalm 102:1)

Eleven dioceses now serve this area, eight of which are located in Pennsylvania. The first bishop of Philadelphia was Bishop Michael Egan, OFM, who died on July 22, 1814.

Saint Julie Billiart

On April 8, 1816, Sister Julie Billiart died in France at age 65. She was born into a peasant family in Picardy, France. She began teaching catechism to small children in her town at age 7, and at age 14, she devoted herself to works of mercy and teaching her poor neighbors.

After the French Revolution, she founded the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur for the Christian education of children. She was canonized in 1969; the postulator of her cause of Norbertine Abbot General Hubert Noots, O.Praem.

Saint Julie once said, “You out to have great trust that the good God will protect you in every circumstance.”

So, we pray today’s psalm which we prayed at Kenosis, “O Lord, hear my prayer and let my cry come to you.”
